Emergency Town Hall meeting on Childcare in Australia

You are invited to an emergency Town Hall meeting of parents on the future of childcare and early learning.

A decision made in the next week will have major consequences on the future of childcare, early learning and child development in Australia.

The federal government is considering ending its childcare relief package early, a decision that will cost parents hundreds of dollars a week in additional child care costs and could send some providers to the wall.

This is a moment when we need to demand a long-term plan for nurturing our children, not ‘snapping back’ to pretend it’s business as usual.

If you care about the future for Australian children – join us for a virtual emergency town hall meeting on Tuesday the 26th of May convened by The Parenthood to give parents the opportunity to put your questions directly to them and get the answers you need.

Join Parenthood Board member and campaign director Georgie Dent in discussion with:

·      Lisa Bryant, ECEC consultant & advocate

·      Jay Weatherill, CEO of Thrive by Five, The Minderoo Foundation’s early childhood development initiative.

·      Polly Dunning, Teacher, Parent of two & writer

·      Dannielle Wood, Economist & Program Director, Budget Policy and Institutional Reform Grattan Institute

The event starts at 7.30pm and registration is essential. To register, click here. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/the-parenthoods-childcare-emergency-town-hall-tickets-106332880508
